Hey All You Bloody-Minded

Hi bloody folks, some students at RGS are holding a blood donation drive at their school next Wednesday:

RGSS Blood Donation Drive
Date: 1 March 2006 Venue: K.S Chee Theatre
Time: 2.00 to 6.00pm Raffles Girls' School (Secondary)
20 Anderson Road Singapore 259978

If you're tired of bleeding your wallet dry at Orchard Road, why not make a short detour down to their school to bleed yourself dry?

The Australians have also come up with something bloody amusing for their tourism campaign this year: So Where The Bloody Hell Are You?

on that australian video, I find the segment about the tribespeople and the woman who says "we've been rehearsing for over 40 000 years" really culturally offensive and degrading. typical australians.

well some australians might take offence at your tarring them with the same broad brush as 'typical australians.' what do you mean by 'typical?'

i find it hard to muster much sympathy for australian sensibilities i might be offending in a single comment on a single blog when an ad campaign like that can be aired internationally and not raise an eyebrow. and i mean that the packaging and marketing of aboriginal culture is something that's gone on for decades now, furthermore that the white australian has a reputation for being rather distrustful if not outright disdainful or disrespectful of people from other cultures. there are of course exceptions to every typification.
